MY ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN WORKS
01 Thesis: Hospice Care Centre
Problem Statement :
How to create a therapeutic and home-like built environment for terminally ill people?
Solution Space :
WHAT and for WHOM? The goal is to of this research is to explore how environmental psychology and architecture can be used to create a therapeutic environment for terminally ill patients and their families, enhancing their quality of life by designing a home-like 'third place' with necessary medical and non-medical facilities for an active lifestyle.

HOW? Began by researching the Hospice Care Centre, its conventional approach, and user psychology. I proposed conceptual models rooted in various design principles and theories to meet key needs and facilitate healing. Spatial zoning is done in order to flexibly support the changing needs of the patients and provide a gradience of experience while also ensuring a sense of community, belonging, and security for the patients and their families. Positive distractions are employed as a tool to uplift patients' spirits and bring them out of their shells. .

WHY? To address the psychological, physiological, social, and spiritual needs of the users and to generate an architectural solution by incorporating aesthetical ideas, functional aspects of the program and the site characteristics into a built form that will reflect on the users.

02. Urban Design Study of T. Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
Problem Statement :
How to redesign a urban neighbourhood to have a positive impact on the community by addressing the current issues like high traffic, overcrowding, imbalanced urbanisation etc. ?
WHAT and for WHOM? The primary goal is to understand the theoretical concepts of urban design and their impact on a small urban area along with its population, considering morphological, socio-economic, cultural, and present-day physical factors. The research aims to address issues like overcrowding, traffic, abandoned spaces, proposing innovative solutions and fostering a new community vision.

HOW? Starting with research on morphological, physical, socio-economical, and cultural development, the region and its primary users were investigated, analysed, evaluated, and documented. Furthermore, new visions to address the region's current issues were introduced and novel solutions were proposed through design and architecture.

WHY? To understand the various lifestyles of the urban community and address their concerns related to various urban issues such as increased urban density, road congestion due to heavy traffic, high pollution, and so on.
Solution Statement
It was a five-person group project, and I was in charge of documentation, concept development, and planning. I also assisted with 3D modelling and rendering.

03. Rural Design Study: Kodiveri, Tamil Nadu, India
WHAT and for WHOM? The primary goal of this research is to study and understand the different lifestyles of the rural community and the influence of architecture over their development over the years.

HOW? Starting with research on morphological, physical, socio-economical, and cultural development, the region and its primary users were investigated, analysed, evaluated, and the rural style of architecture was examined and documented. Furthermore, novel solutions were proposed through design and architecture to address issues in that region. Various skills like manual drafting, sketching, painting etc. were used.

WHY? To study various construction techniques, materials and understand architecture in a rural context.
It was a five-person group project, and I was in charge of documentation, concept development, and planning. I also assisted with 3D modelling and rendering.

Tools Used :
04. A Collection of Selected 3D Models and Renders
Created intricate 3D models that are rendered with lifelike material texturing that assist in transforming visions to vivid reality, acting like architectural prototypes of the buildings.
Tools used :
05. Selected Branding Design
Designed the logo complementing the firm's name 'Design Node,' which denotes the junction where various design forms and designers meet people. The interlocked 'D' and 'N' letters depict this intersection, simplifying the concept.
Tools used :
06. Selected Poster Designs
Crafted promotional posters for an educational institute as part of my freelance project and IUPUI's fall celebration as a graduate student. The basic layout was sketched and colour scheme was decided by coordinating with the client.
